feminist artists' collective from Hamburg

  • Accessible

We understand access not as something to be produced, but as an existing potential—one that can be revealed, explored, and negotiated through artistic practice.

  • Installative

Our spaces are immersive and relational, and they change as the work grows. You step inside them and move through them.

  • Participative

The audience becomes part of the play. What happens comes out of the meeting of bodies, language, material and space.

We are a feminist artists' collective from Hamburg, working where performance, installation and participatory art meet. We create encounters on equal terms between people of different generations and lived realities.

About us

Who we are

bright Future Collective is a feminist artists’ collective based in Hamburg, founded by Anthoula Bourna, Anne Pretzsch, and Teresa L. Rosenkrantz. Our work brings together perspectives from German literature, Eastern European studies, psychology, visual arts, performance, curating, and theatre education. We operate at the intersection of performance, installation, and participatory art.

At the heart of our practice is the creation of encounters on equal terms. We develop artistic formats that connect people across generations and lived realities, opening spaces for exchange, dialogue, and collective experience.

bright Future understands access not as something to be produced, but as an existing potential—one that can be revealed, explored, and negotiated through artistic practice.

  • Anne Pretzsch

Anne Pretzsch works as a performance artist, writer, and curator. She develops transprofessional and transgenerational formats that focus on social participation, collective knowledge production, and new forms of collaboration. Her projects have been presented at venues including Ballhaus Ost Berlin, Theater an der Ruhr, FUNDUS Theater Hamburg, Comedia Cologne, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Schäxpir Festival in Linz. Since 2022, she has served as artistic director, alongside Lisa Florentine Schmalz, of the emerging artists’ festival WE PRESENT at the LICHTHOF Theater in Hamburg. She is currently pursuing her doctorate at the HFBK Hamburg in collaboration with the FUNDUS Theater, focusing on the repetition of participatory formats in children’s and youth theater. At the heart of her work is the conviction that we can only succeed together, that we must make space for one another, and that the voices that are heard the least are the most important ones.

  • Anthoula Bourna

Anthoula Bourna, born in Athens in 1983, is a freelance artist and set and costume designer based in Hamburg. In 2019, she completed her MFA in Stage Design at HFBK Hamburg. Previously, she studied Fine Arts and Painting at the School of Fine Arts in Thessaloniki and Psychology at the University of Ioannina. Since 2010, she has worked internationally across performance, stage design, and installation, with a focus on inclusive, immersive, and transgenerational formats. Her collaborations include Kampnagel Hamburg, Thalia Theater, Staatstheater Cottbus, and LICHTHOF Theater, among others. Since 2022, she has worked continuously with the inclusive Klabauter Theater and has been co-curator of Galerie 21 at Künstlerhaus Vorwerkstift. She is currently an artist-in-residence at Stiftung Freiraum e. V. at Künstlerhaus Vorwerkstift in Hamburg.

  • Teresa Lucia Rosenkrantz

Born in Kassel, Teresa is a theater maker and theater educator whose practice centers on creating singular, accessible performances with diverse, age-mixed groups that critically question existing conditions. She leads an intergenerational performance group at Thalia Theater's jung&mehr program, works regularly with the inclusive ensemble of Klabauter Theater and children's theater Brekkekekex, and teaches at HMT Rostock. Alongside experimenting with innovative methods of accessibility, she is increasingly drawn to a caring artistic practice — one that imagines theater made with and for an entire urban community.
